Aleris has signed an agreement to acquire Art Clinic, a leading company in orthopaedics, spine and plastic surgery.
Art Clinic was founded in 1999 in Gothenburg and has since grown organically with three additional clinics (Stockholm, Uppsala and Jönköping). MVI Fund I ("MVI") invested in Art Clinic in 2018 and the company's turnover amounted to approximately EUR 33m in 2021.
During its ownership, MVI has focused on organic expansion, primarily through the establishment of a new clinic in Sophiahemmet in Stockholm, a strengthening of the finance function and the company's financial reporting, streamlined administration and a strategy on pricing.
Art Clinic is divested from MVI Fund I and several minority shareholders, most of whom are active operationally and central to the business.
The transaction is subject to competition clearance. Lincoln International acted as financial advisor and Wigge & Partners acted as legal advisor to the sellers.
"When we were looking for a partner for further expansion in 2018, we clearly saw the qualities of the team at MVI. Their entrepreneurial approach over the past four years has contributed to a strong platform for increased scalability and organic expansion.
We see Aleris as a natural part of the continuing journey of Art Clinic. Art Clinic and Aleris share the same values and have a long-term ambition to be able to offer Sweden's most modern and accessible specialist healthcare. Art Clinic is very proud to be part of Aleris and looks forward to continuing to develop healthcare in Sweden together." - Ronnie Pettersson, CEO Art Clinic AB
